Sunday before the Nativity of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ

With the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, a regular Sunday Divine Liturgy is celebrated at St. Sergius of Radonezh Orthodox Church in Pakistan.

The Nativity Fast and Orthodox Traditions:

This Sunday Fr. Joseph Farooq preached about the importance of Nativity Fast and he told the faithful that our Holy Fathers always teach us to look after and care the poor, orphans and widows. Faithful were also taught that how we Orthodox Christians have to follow the holy traditions and practice the perfect Christian Teaching preached by the Holy Fathers. We attain spiritual growth by worshiping the living God in our daily life.

This Sunday the ROCOR community were asked to prepare their souls and hearts for the celebration of the Blessed Feast of the Nativity of Christ, when our Saviour, the Son of God, the second person of the Holy Trinity, received flesh and bones in the small town of Bethlehem, through the Virgin Mary, and the predictions of the prophets were fulfilled.

Fr. Joseph told the faithful that we must follow the true traditions of holy Orthodoxy in our daily lives and always remain faithful to the Russian Orthodox Church, because these days holy Orthodoxy is being attacked from all sides by schismatic and heretic forces.

We are thankful to God, with the blessings His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, each New Year brings success and strength for the orthodox mission in Pakistan and the holy orthodoxy is moving one step ahead in Pakistan.
